The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and have the opportunity to earn while they learn and to put theory into practice within an automotive training environment.
As well as attending the training centre for week block release of training, regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.
What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?
You will be based within the workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of fork lift truck vehicle repair and maintenance including:

Inspections to comply with legal requirements

Diagnosing and rectifying lift truck power plant unit faults,

Rectifying mechanical handling and chassis system faults

Diagnosing and rectifying electrical unit and component faults.
What will I learn?
Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.
What qualifications or qualities are required?
You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Technical or Science subject. Standard Grades 1-4 and Intermediates will also be accepted.
It is essential that you are literate, numerate, reliable, and keen to learn.
