Training:
You’ll attend block release training at GTG Training, a modern facility with industry-standard equipment, where expert trainers will help you develop your technical skills and knowledge.

A Typical Day:
You'll be based in the workshop, learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance. This includes vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, major component overhauls, and electrical fault diagnostics. You'll cover units such as:
· Materials, fabrication, tools, and measuring devices used in the commercial vehicle environment
· Inspection of heavy vehicles
· Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units, including pneumatic braking systems
· Diagnosing and rectifying engine, transmission, and electrical system faults
· Commissioning and decommissioning high voltage systems on battery electric vehicles
· Ensuring health and safety standards
· Contributing to workplace housekeeping
Requirements and Prospects:
To complete the apprenticeship, you must pass Level 2 English and Maths (or have an exemption certificate) and work towards this level before the end-point assessment.
