FMG Repair Services – Apprentice Vehicle Panel Technician  

Job Overview

Are you looking to earn while you learn? Then a modern apprenticeship with FMG Repair Services is an ideal opportunity for you!

What will the apprentice be doing?

In this role, you will be trained to repair vehicle damage to an exacting standard. You will be working within a wider vehicle repair team and have a dedicated mentor assigned to you. You will have exposure to a range of vehicles and repair methods.

You will be based within a Body Shop, involved in learning all aspects of repairing accident damaged vehicles, including chassis alignment techniques, panel repair and replacement, welding and preparing vehicles for painting

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will train through GTG to SCQF Level 6 in Vehicle Body Repair.  

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace and at GTG Training which aims to ensure you have the required skills to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

Qualifications

You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or a Technical subject.

It is essential that you are literate, numerate, reliable, and keen to learn.

Apprenticeship summary

  • Annual starting wage in first year

£13,682.33 (£6.56 p/h)

Rate of pay dependant on age from second year onwards.

  • Working week

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm

Total hours per week: 40

  • Expected apprenticeship duration

36 months

  • Possible start date

December – January 2021/2022
