Job Role: We are recruiting within GTG Glasgow for Business Support Apprentices. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to earn while they learn in a variety of areas within our business and achieve an SCQF Level 6 in Digital Applications.

This role is office-based working alongside a team of administrators. The role is varied from day to day and Business Support Apprentices will work across the below departments carrying out a range of responsibilities.

Our Logistics department deal with large goods vehicle and forklift driver training for Modern Apprenticeships as well as a large selection of commercial training courses required within the transport and logistics sector. This role will involve organising and assisting with instructor diaries, using Microsoft office software, including Excel and Outlook as well as our own management systems to facilitate the planning & administration of our courses, awarding body’s exams and apprenticeships.

Our Recruitment and Employability department recruit candidates for our external customers for automotive, business skills, engineering apprenticeships as well as logistics. This involves interviewing and skills testing potential candidates to ensure their suitability for our programmes, attending recruitment fairs and working with schools and external customers.

The Funding department deal with all claims relating to our Apprenticeship programmes and this role will involve creating induction packs, uploading information onto awarding or funding body databases, inputting claims data onto the relevant systems as well as ensuring information is kept up to date and is accurate.

Our Accounts department deal with all invoicing, processing cheques and payments, dealing with commercial enquiries as well as using accounting and processing software systems to run a healthy Accounts Department.

Our Health and safety and business skills departments’ deliver professional courses covering various subjects. The candidate will help in processing customer details, certification, and attendance pass rates, helping to prepare the instructors paperwork for courses and assisting with sales enquiries from the Account Management Team.

Our Facilities and Events team work front of house, welcoming our customers and answering any queries and calls and will assist with conference and events hosted within GTG.

We will provide training in the following:

• Training in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word

• Training in systems such as Administrate, FIPS, Maytas and Kerridge.

• Customer service training

• Within each department we will ensure all apprentices have the relevant mentor to guide them as they develop as individuals and learn new skills, knowledge and behaviours.

Location: 1330 South Street, Glasgow, G14 0BJ

Working Hours: 40 hours per week 08.30 - 17.00 (30 min lunch)

Skills Required: You must have or expect to gain a minimum of National 4 or above in English and Maths. Candidates must live within the Glasgow City Council boundary. It is essential that you are literate, numerate, reliable and keen to learn.
