GTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Parts Advisor on behalf of Renault Trucks. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

Apprentices will gain experience in all operating systems within their own parts department and will have the opportunity to put theory into practice within their own facility. Customer facing and parts identification units will be undertaken, ensuring apprentices will be able to meet and exceed their organisation's customer expectations.

What Might a Typical Day for a Parts Advisor look like?

  • Assisting customers to order the right parts for their vehicles
  • Receiving and dispatching parts
  • Helping solve customer enquiries face to face and over the phone
  • Process sales transactions, including raising invoices and credits for goods supplied and handling returns
  • Co-ordinate with other departments, such as the service desk and the workshop
  • Compile parts from job cards for repairs being carried out in the workshop.

We are a small team, with a Parts Supervisor, a Parts Advisor and a Parts apprentice, so you will be involved in everything we do and gain a lot of hands-on experience throughout your apprenticeship. 

What will I learn?

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

What qualifications or qualities are required?

You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English and Maths. 

What personal qualities are required?

  • We are looking for candidates who want to kickstart their career in the automotive industry and who are keen to learn.
  • You must be dedicated and have a proactive approach to your work and learning.
  • You are able to prioritise and work to timelines.
  • A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative.
  • Good IT skills and an ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly
  • Attention to detail
  • A full UK Driving licence preferred but not essential.
