Lothian Buses are recruiting for an apprentices to specialise in Commercial Administration to work in their head office. 

As Edinburgh’s principal transport provider Lothian has been providing the city with a first-class public transport service for over a century. In more recent years we have expanded to provide the same great services within Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian.

Overall Focus and Purpose of Role    

We operate over 70 services, through a fleet of over 700 vehicles and employ over 2,500 employees which includes over 1800 drivers. The Business Administration Apprentice role is a vital part of the organisation and a valuable asset to the team. Working in either the HR, Engineering and Commercial department, the Business Administration Apprentice will manage day-to-day tasks to ensure all departmental administrative processes run smoothly.

Main Duties and Responsibilities          

Fleet Admin Apprentice 

  • Assist with maintaining vehicle records and updating software system with fleet information
  • Assist with all aspects of fleet administration including MOTs, vehicle taxation, issue of Operator’s licence discs, notification of vehicle alterations
  • Provide admin support for engineering department training and development as required
  • Provide support to depot admin teams as required
  • Collating and storing data on various Microsoft programs
  • Generating reports as requested and providing any additional support required by depot administration and management teams
  • All other general administration and ad hoc duties as required by the Engineering Management Team
