A&S Motors based in Willenhall are currently looking for an apprentice to join their well‑established team. With over 24 years of experience in the automotive industry, they have built a strong reputation for providing honest, reliable and high‑quality service to customers in Willenhall and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring mechanic to begin their career in the motor industry. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced mechanics, gaining hands‑on experience while completing a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship.

8:30am to 5:30pm work day - Monday to Friday

About the Apprenticeship 

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment. 

As well as attending one of our GTG training centres for week block release of training, regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship. 

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like? 

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics. 

Examples of the units covered are:  

  • Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment  

  • Inspection of light vehicles  

  • Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components  

  • Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults  

  • Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety  

  • Contributing to workplace good housekeeping  

What will I learn? 

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice’s workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship. 

You will train through GTG Wolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks, for Level 2 Autocare Technician or Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician. 

What qualifications or qualities are required? 

GCSE Level 4 or above in Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject or equivalent
